Friends of Taborspace

Taborspace is so proud of the range of individuals and communities who are enjoying and engaging in the sacred and beautiful space of the historic Mt Tabor Presbyterian Church building. It is what gets us up in the morning! We are reaching out now to the neighborhood and communities of people who’ve gained so much from Taborspace to help secure and sustain our beloved building.

The 108 year old facility is wearing from age, use, and last winter’s snow storms. Ceilings have been ruined from leaks, floors worn, windows badly damaged, and technologies (like our alarm systems) have become out dated. With an average of 3,000 people coming to Taborspace every week, we could raise all of our needed funds if every visitor just gave $1 a week. That would meet our needs of raising at least a million dollars over the next 5-10 years, along with some strong efforts fundraising and grant assistance, which we are actively seeking.

Weekly, developers inquire about acquiring our plot of land, but we know that our presence and purpose in Portland is as relevant as it ever was, if not more. We need connected communities, safe spaces for recovery groups, resources for families, and a refuge where we can press pause for a moment of peace and clarity.

Please, consider contributing to the Historic Building Fund, helping to preserve the presence and purpose of Taborspace in our sacred Mt Tabor Presbyterian Church building. You can contribute a tax-deductible donation via cash, check, online at, or even schedule a monthly recurring contribution with our office or your bank.

We are deeply grateful for you and the incalculable number of good things happening at Taborspace because of the people who feel drawn to this serene building. Thank you for contributing to our presence and purpose with your time and resources!

Very sincerely,

Josh Pinkston
