Caring for Children in the Midst of Global Crisis

Using The Work That Reconnects practices developed by Joanna Macy, we will gather with other parents, teachers and caretakers to deeply feel, process and reflect upon the outrageous endeavor of raising children in this time of environmental and social collapse.

This form of group work allows us to transmute and release our pain, fear and grief so we can show up for our children with the presence and courage that they really need from us.

You have something that lights you up. You may call it a hobby or something you do just for fun.

You have a job that pays your bills and you keep your passion on the side.

You've never thought it realistic to turn your hobby into something more.

Until now.

The first step in the process of integrating your Passion deeper into your life and moving past the Hobby stage is to create a Vision.

This is what we'll do in this free workshop, led by Lisa Kostova.

Lisa Kostova built a career as a tech executive and has now transitioned to running her own business that is deeply integrated with her core passions. Lisa is currently completing a Leadership Program and as part of the program, she gets to design and present her free signature workshop as a gift to the community.

Please join us to build skills and create a welcoming space for everyone to speak openly about the role of race in our and our children’s lives. Design Your Own Urban Forest Bathing Experience - Saturdays Sep. 7-Oct. 12

The Japanese art of Shinrin-yoku, or forest bathing, is a scientifically backed practice of using the natural environment, and our in-born affinity for it, to support human health. In this workshop we’ll read a book together on the topic, discuss research related to forest bathing, and explore the elements of the practice. We will discuss safety, consider urban elements such as neighborhood streets with green space, understand some of the science about how the practices function in relation to the human body, and review the recommended sequence/practices of a forest bathing walk so that participants can design their own forest-bathing experience.

RSVP by Monday Sept 2 to save your spot! We’ll send you a working draft syllabus so you can see the class schedule of topics and reading, ask questions and get ready for fun in the forest.
