What: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) for Adult ADHD

Who: Counselors, Marriage and Family Therapists, Social Workers, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners, Psychologists, Certified Addiction Counselors and Interns Working Under Supervision

When: Friday, July 20th, 8:30 AM – 1:30 PM

Where: The Tabor Space, 5441 SE Belmont St, Portland, OR 97215

Why: This training will support health care practitioners in their professional settings in understanding and supporting adults with ADHD. It is being delivered as part of doctoral research overseen by Capella University's School of Counselor Education & Supervision to explore the impact of ACT for ADHD training on clinicians. Participants will be asked to anonymously complete a survey before and after the training as part of data collection.

Bonus: Lunch and snacks provided as well as 4 NBCC issued CEs for attending the training for licensed and certified professionals and registered interns.

Training Objectives:
• Explore the Adult ADHD brain, the context of ADHD in society, clinician challenges and benefits of diagnosing and treating ADHD, and ADHD relationship with comorbidities
• Overview ADHD nonpharmacological treatments
• Deep dive into using ACT to treat Adult ADHD using the ACT Matrix for clinical delivery
• Learn the ADHD toolkit and how it overlays with the ACT Matrix
• Conceptualize how ADHD impacts relationships and explore how the Gottman Sound Relationship House overlays with ACT Matrix to help clients connect in partnership with others
• Explore sample treatment plans and public domain videos to enhance your work with clients with ACT and adult ADHD

Presenter Biography:
Jill Corvelli, of Corvelli Counseling & Coaching, is a licensed professional counselor and holds CADC and CGAC certifications. She has a Master's in Organizational Dynamics and worked as a change management consultant for Fortune 500 companies and adjunct professor in higher education. She also holds a Master's in Professional Counseling and has worked in agency and private practice with a special focus in adults with ADHD and ADHD impacted straight, lesbian, gay, and transgender partnerships. She is currently a researcher at Capella University working on her PhD in Counselor Education & Supervision. She looks forward to providing supervision and career development support for counselors and advocating for the ADHD community.
