Caring for Children in the Midst of Global Crisis

Using The Work That Reconnects practices developed by Joanna Macy, we will gather with other parents, teachers and caretakers to deeply feel, process and reflect upon the outrageous endeavor of raising children in this time of environmental and social collapse.

This form of group work allows us to transmute and release our pain, fear and grief so we can show up for our children with the presence and courage that they really need from us.

Design Your Own Urban Forest Bathing Experience - Saturdays Sep. 7-Oct. 12

The Japanese art of Shinrin-yoku, or forest bathing, is a scientifically backed practice of using the natural environment, and our in-born affinity for it, to support human health. In this workshop we’ll read a book together on the topic, discuss research related to forest bathing, and explore the elements of the practice. We will discuss safety, consider urban elements such as neighborhood streets with green space, understand some of the science about how the practices function in relation to the human body, and review the recommended sequence/practices of a forest bathing walk so that participants can design their own forest-bathing experience.

RSVP by Monday Sept 2 to save your spot! We’ll send you a working draft syllabus so you can see the class schedule of topics and reading, ask questions and get ready for fun in the forest.

Approaching Health Through Self-Love

Most of us know about nutrition and exercise. And if that was the answer to having us feel healthy and happy in our bodies, we all would have done it by now. That’s why I believe it goes deeper than that. If we can approach our bodies (and this process) with love, then we can actually make the shifts that we want. So...Join me, for a morning of deep care.
