Our coffee bar is located in the beautiful 100 year-old belltower, gently lit by stained glass windows. It opens to the original chapel, Copeland Commons, for lots of additional seating. The mornings are often a bustling time with toddlers playing, parents socializing, small groups meeting for business and individuals working on their laptops or reading the paper – and the quiet peaceful afternoons are enjoyed by many patrons as well. You can stay all day or grab a few yummy treats to go.
Our service is unique, all of the Baristas are expertly trained volunteers who have gone through our comprehensive training program. And all of our prices are suggested, which means we welcome you to choose what you can-and-want to contribute for your coffee and treats. It’s our way of saying, this is your community organization, support it and contribute to it as you can!

Volunteering as a barista is an excellent opportunity to learn professional barista abilities as well as a great way to actively be involved in this community! We provide a comprehensive one-on-one training program that covers customer service skills, maintaining a safe and clean cafe space and artisan coffee methods.
Once a volunteer has completed the initial training program, taking anywhere from 4-8 weeks, they then become responsible for independently running the cafe space for one 5-hour shift per week. While the training process still continues, the barista is equipped to excel in the various responsibilities that come with operating a small cafe, from superior customer service to pulling delicious espresso shots!
We require the following:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Able to commit to one shift per week. Shifts: Monday-Friday 7am-12:15pm or 12pm-5pm, Saturday 8am-2pm.
- Able to commit to serving the TaborSpace community as a volunteer for at least 6 months from start date.
- Can dress business-casual and has clean hygiene.
- Has a passion for coffee.
- Is reliable, wants to work hard at a fast-pace, while multitasking.
- Wants to have fun, service the community and enjoys socializing with others!
No experience necessary.
Please fill out our short application if you are interested in volunteering with us.
We are excited to hear from you!
